Fifth Pathway: Managing Transboundary Issues Equitably
The Fifth Pathway is ‘Managing Transboundary Issues Equitably’. The lack of global frameworks that allow for global collaboration mean that countries are becoming more nationalistic and are turning inward. Some refuse to participate in international treaties and others prioritize own economic and political interests instead of working together collectively. This lack of cooperation has led to increased competition between countries prolonging the effect of crises: flooding, rising sea levels, drought, food and hunger epidemics. This pathway would like to see a legally binding global agreement between all countries which is fair and equal therefore creating an international governing system which benefits all. A global enforcement system upholds this treaty and holds to account those that work against it. Globally accessible data is used to track global issues such as climate change, supply changes or human migration so that they are sustainable. This will increase global cooperation and benefit all, not just policymakers. This transformation will allow people to work together to reconnect, restore and regenerate our Planet for generations to come.
